“Completing the Talent Acquisition module has been genuinely transformative for me."

“Shadowing our internal TA team and attending the webinars brought everything to life — from understanding structured interviews and the STAR method to seeing how talent pipelines, EVP and inclusive hiring actually work in practice. I’ve learnt how internal recruitment adds real value through better cultural fit, faster hiring and stronger collaboration with HR, L&D and DEI.

The apprenticeship has also helped me grow personally. Revisiting unconscious bias, inclusive hiring and emotional intelligence has made me more self-aware and confident in challenging decisions, supporting hiring managers and communicating with empathy. I now feel equipped to contribute meaningfully to talent discussions, suggest improvements and bring new ideas back to the team.

"It’s never too late to figure out what you’re truly passionate about, even if it happens a little later in life."

“I’ve been reflecting on my own journey as an apprentice, and wanted to share a bit about what it’s been like for me personally.

Becoming an apprentice myself has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in recent years. I felt encouraged and supported by my employer to pursue my Level 3 Recruiter qualification, and I’m proudly doing this with the wonderful team at Recruitment Juice.

My journey so far has been genuinely inspiring. I thoroughly enjoy learning while gaining formal education at the same time. The mix of live workshops, seminars, podcasts, and reading materials is the perfect combo for my sometimes easily distracted mind!

Something I often say at career fairs or when giving advice is this: it’s really hard to know exactly what path to take straight after secondary school. But nothing is set in stone. The best thing you can do is choose the path that feels right for you at that moment. New opportunities will come along, shaping your life and helping you become who you’re meant to be.

And just like me, it’s never too late to figure out what you’re truly passionate about, even if it happens a little later in life.

"My Level 2 Recruitment Resourcer Apprenticeship has been an incredible experience"

“My Level 2 Recruitment Resourcer Apprenticeship has been an incredible experience, and a huge part of that is thanks to my tutor, Ginny Mappley. Over the past year I faced some really difficult challenges inside and outside of work, and Ginny was always there for me — offering guidance, reassurance, and genuine care.

She regularly made time for early-morning Teams calls so I could speak privately before my colleagues arrived, and she consistently went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported. Her advice, resources, and encouragement completely changed how I approach setbacks and built my confidence massively.

Ginny listens without judgement, is incredibly knowledgeable, and somehow makes every learner feel truly heard. She even supported and donated to a personal fundraiser I ran earlier this year, which meant the world to me.

I never once saw our meetings as a tick-box exercise — I genuinely looked forward to them each month. I will really miss being mentored by her.
