Who is eligible to join the programme?
The programme has certain eligibility criteria, as required by the government. The rules are quite extensive but, in short, people can apply if they’ve had the right to work in the UK for the past three year and work at least 30 hours per week. Our advisors will discuss this with you in more detail to ensure the entry rules are fully understood and complied with.
Can our existing staff join the programme?
Yes, the programme is appropriate for those already in Resourcer roles who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of resourcing. There is a general expectation that anyone joining the programme will benefit from significant development, so it is not suitable for very experienced Resourcers.
Is the programme useful for new members of staff?
This depends on their job roles. If a new member of staff has been employed either in a Resourcer role or in a role that is likely to lead to a Resourcer position, then this is ideal. There are two important things to remember. Firstly, the apprenticeship standard should fit the job role and, secondly, the learner should benefit from significant up-skilling while on the programme.
How much does the apprenticeship cost and how do we pay Juice?
The government has set a funding cap of £5,000 for the Resourcer Apprenticeship. Juice will work with you to set up your Apprenticeship Digital account, so that your levy funds are transferred to us over the course of the apprenticeship (in accordance with the levy funding rules). This will be payable monthly at £266 per month per learner and should the apprentice leave the programme, no further payment is taken.
Are there any entry criteria?
Learners must either hold GCSE English and Maths qualifications or be able to achieve an equivalent qualification before they can complete their programme. We will initially assess your learners to check they can meet the English and Maths requirements with the right level of support, and if required, we will take them through this whilst completing their Resourcer programme. Funding is available for this so there is no additional cost incurred.
What e-learning will our apprentices use?
Your apprentices will benefit from our established range of exceptional video courses on Resourcing. Subjects include an overview of the attraction, selection, assessment, building strong relationships, social media and much more. These videos offer a fresh, new, innovative and easy-to-use learning platform that are, above all, fun and engaging.
How are our Resourcers assessed?
In the workplace: Observations, witness testimonies from line manager, evidence of work e.g. emails sent / letters typed / screenshots of job posted, professional discussion with apprentice.
Recruitment Juice platform: Short answer questions to episodes e.g. why is it important to ensure that you check details when posting a vacancy?
During end point assessment: Professional discussion – expected to last between 45 and 60 minutes, Research project Level 2 – this will include writing a job advert with word count of 350 (+ / – 10%) plus answers to the supplementary questions will have a total word count of 1100 words (+/ – 10%).
Do we have to pay separately for End Point Assessment
No, it’s all part of the funding arrangements we will have between us. Juice will recommend an approved End Point Assessment organisation to support your learners. Juice will formally contract with the End Point Assessment organisation and we will be responsible for paying them from the levy funds we receive.
How long does the programme last?
Typically, Resourcers will be on programme for 15 to 18 months. A lot depends on their personal circumstances and the duration can be adjusted, to some degree, to ensure your apprentices’ and your organisation’s needs are fully met.
Are there different pass marks to the apprenticeship?
Yes, your Resourcer’s can secure a pass, merit or distinction. Juice aims to support all learners to have the opportunity of passing with distinction, which is a clear recognition that they are someone who regularly goes beyond the normal expectations of the job and has the potential to develop and improve quickly.
How do you make sure the apprenticeship is delivered to a very high standard?
Our apprenticeship programme is frequently checked for its impact and effectiveness. We use a range of quality assurance tools to identify our strengths and areas for improvement. These tools include observations of our team working with your apprentices, feed back from your apprentices and their managers, and analysis of their progress and other data. We stay up to date with best practice through our membership of the Association of Employment and Learning providers (AELP), by networking with other professional training providers, and by researching relevant information such as Ofsted reports on apprenticeships. Our work is externally checked by our awarding organisations, the Education and Skills Funding Agency, and Ofsted.
How do our apprentices become members of a professional body?
When learners are enrolled onto the standards they receive free student membership of IRP (membership arm of REC). This lasts for as long as they are an apprentice. Once they receive the full apprenticeship – they receive a further one year’s membership for free.

How do we get started?
The first step is to have an informal discussion with us to explore how the Apprenticeship Standard for Resourcers can support you and your staff. There are some administrative steps to work through before any apprentices can start. These include making sure that your Apprenticeship Service account is properly set up, that there is a contract in place (a requirement of the Education and Skills Funding Agency), and that apprenticeship agreements and commitment statements are in place. We will explain all of this and steer you through the process.
