Leaving the EU reminded me of break up where one party just didn’t want the other to leave.
Firstly, there was disbelief (We’re leaving the EU!), then there was the anger (lets have another referendum!) then the bargaining (perhaps we’ll get an EU Lite) and now the reality is setting in (We’re leaving the EU and we are all doomed.)
Or are we?
I voted IN. I am a passionate believer that we were better in the club, than out. Especially from a recruitment point of view. All I see ahead is clients grumbling about having to do extra paperwork for non-Brit candidates.
But whatever reputation Recruiters have, it is an industry built on survivors who learn to adapt to market conditions. I was pretty gutted we voted to leave, but, like the spurned lover, I’ll put on a weepy movie, eat a lot of ice cream then re-organise and get on with it.
Change and disruption often means opportunity. Hopefully it will bring some our way.
Have a great week
